MY-WAY Kitchen is a mobile restaurant based in Surrey. Their quirky food van is a fully renovated traditional American school bus containing a full kitchen and multiple TV screens which can promote your event or entertain guests. Aside from catering, MY-WAY Kitchen also provide live bands and sound systems and can accessorise and amp-up events of any theme or size.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To be able to provide a precise quote we need to know the date, the type of the event and what time the food will be required for. Also, a rough estimate of the number of guests will help us to create a lovely homemade menu within your budget. As we have got quite a big catering van we need to know about the accessibility (width/height restrictions) in advance.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Pick an experienced, organised and well established mobile food trader as catering can be very demanding and it needs a lot of planning upfront depending on the type of food and event. I think it's very important to learn something about the quality of the food, i.e. whether it is all homemade and where the provider gets their supplies from. This way you have a better understanding of what to expect on the day of the event and the costs involved.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

MY-WAY Kitchen have a passion for healthy, good quality homemade food and love entertaining people. We wanted to make event planning easier by providing everything a customer could need to host a unique and memorable event. A huge kitchen fitted into an American school bus with enough space to prepare and cook 3 courses for 150 guests, benches, tables, marquee, sound system lights, lasers...we've got it all!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Most of our customers find us on Add to Event, get in touch and eventually book us for their event. We mainly do private functions so this is the perfect platform for us to be found or for us to apply for events. The last wedding we did was booked through Add to Event - we served starters, mains and desserts to 130 guests which was a great success as everything was planned meticulously upfront.
